Ready-mix concrete – production and delivery to site, Proszowice and the surrounding area

Ready-mixed concrete is a finished mix produced at a batching plant to a set mix design. It comes to site in a truck mixer, which Polish builders call a “gruszka” (pear). The crew places it in the prepared element, compacts it and protects it after the pour.

We produce concrete in Jakubowice near Proszowice, using two independent HARTMANN batching plants. This means production does not depend on a single installation, and together the plants can produce up to 360 m³ of concrete per day. If you need concrete delivered to your project, have the design requirements and the planned date ready. Agree the mix, quantity, transport and, if needed, a pump in one order.

Strength classes

We produce concrete in strength classes from C8/10 to C40/50, as well as in higher classes:

  • C8/10, C12/15, C16/20, C20/25,
  • C25/30, C30/37, C35/45, C40/50,
  • classes higher than C40/50 — please ask.

We match the mix parameters to the design. The class is only part of the designation: ask us, quoting the full designation from the design, and we will agree which mix to produce.

The strength class defines the required compressive strength of the concrete. Consistence describes how the fresh concrete behaves during placing. The two are not interchangeable: concrete that is easier to spread is not stronger.

When you order, give us the full designation from the design. Besides the strength class and the consistence class, it may include requirements for the exposure class, the aggregate or other properties. If the designation is unclear, send us that part of the design and we will clarify it. Agree any change to the structural requirements with the designer.

Does your design say B20 or B25?

Older designs, and conversations on site, often use the old Polish “B” grades. Clarify them before you order, rather than choosing a current class only because the number looks similar. Send us the designation from the design together with the other requirements — we will match the mix to the design.

Concrete for foundations and floors

For foundations, you order concrete suited to the specific solution: strip footings, a slab or walls. The design requirements, the ground conditions and the placing method all matter.

For a suspended floor, you also need to plan how the concrete will be placed at height and how quickly the successive loads should arrive. The quantity and parameters depend on the type of structure.

Special concretes

Our range includes these special concretes: watertight, frost-resistant, fibre-reinforced and with a winter admixture. We match the parameters of each one to the design and the conditions on site — just ask.

Watertight concrete is ordered with specified requirements for water penetration. Whether the finished element is watertight also depends on the design, the joints and the workmanship.

Frost-resistant concrete is intended for conditions where freezing and thawing have to be taken into account. It is not the same as a mix for concreting in winter.

Fibre-reinforced concrete contains fibres selected for the required function. Using fibres does not automatically mean leaving out the bars or mesh specified in the design.

Concrete with a winter admixture, also informally called winter concrete, requires the mix to be matched to the conditions on site. Tell us about low temperatures when you order. The admixture does not release the contractor from preparing an unfrozen base and protecting the fresh concrete. How the work is done depends on the conditions, the mix and the recommendations for the specific element.

How to order concrete

  1. Start by contacting the office. Give the location of the site, what the concrete is for and the planned date. If you know the design requirements, have the full mix designation ready.
  2. Work out the quantity. It is worth checking the calculated volume in m³ with your contractor or site manager. Our concrete calculator will help.
  3. Plan the unloading. Tell us whether the truck can stand close to the element and whether a pump is needed. Send details of any access restrictions before the delivery is arranged.
  4. Confirm the terms. A price enquiry does not yet reserve a truck. Before work starts, make sure that the date, parameters, quantity and placing method have been agreed.
  5. Prepare the site. When the concrete arrives, the formwork, reinforcement, crew and equipment should be ready. Also plan the curing after the pour.

What to have ready when you call

  • the town or village and municipality of the site;
  • the planned date and the type of element to be concreted;
  • the quantity in m³, or the dimensions needed to estimate it;
  • the mix requirements from the design;
  • whether you need a concrete pump or a mixer pump;
  • a description of the access route and the unloading point;
  • the phone number of the person receiving the concrete on site.

If you do not know the class, just say so. Missing information is a better starting point than a designation chosen at random.

Delivery and collection

We deliver concrete up to 50 km from the plant in Jakubowice, measured along the truck-mixer route. The minimum order with delivery is 1 m³. Delivery terms and the delivery area are described on separate pages.

You can also collect concrete yourself from the plant at Jakubowice 76. Before you come, agree the quantity, the type of mix, the vehicle and the collection time. Not every vehicle is suitable for carrying fresh concrete; the loading conditions must be agreed with the plant. The office is open Monday–Friday 7:00–18:00, Saturday 7:00–12:00. Saturday deliveries are possible until 17:00 once the date is confirmed.

Documents and price

The plant holds a factory production control (FPC) certificate and national declarations of performance. When you order, tell us which documents your site needs. See the documents.

The price depends on the mix requirements and on the whole order, including delivery and equipment. See pricing information.

Questions before you order

My design says B20. What should I put in the order?

Send us the designation from the design, ideally together with the other requirements. The old grade has to be matched to the current classification, and the design checked for any additional properties it requires.

I do not have the design to hand. Is the name of the element enough?

You can use it to start the conversation and the quote. However, ordering structural concrete requires the right parameters to be established. The word “foundation” alone does not define all of them.

Can water be added to the concrete on site?

Do not add water yourself or by guesswork. Excess water changes the composition of the mix and can impair the properties of the concrete. Any adjustment to the consistence must be decided by an authorised person, must keep within the mix design parameters and must be documented in line with the producer’s procedure. It is best to agree the consistence you need before production.

What documents will I receive?

The delivery note lets you check that the concrete delivered matches your order. On the Documents page you will find which declarations are available for a given type of concrete and how they are provided.

How do I order a special concrete?

Give us the required properties from the design. A name such as “watertight” or “with fibres” is not a full specification. The parameters and availability must be confirmed before production is scheduled.
