We offer foundation excavation, land levelling, site preparation, and road and car park sub-bases. In earthworks, the scope of work and the conditions on the plot matter as much as the choice of machine. Before you send an enquiry, prepare the location, a description of the work and information about access. If you have a design, setting-out data or photos of the site, they will help to determine what needs to be included in the quote.
Whether we can do the job is agreed after checking the type of soil, the work area and the machines needed. Do not plan how long the work will take on the basis of the plot area alone.

Machines and the work area
Our excavator, backhoe loader, bulldozer and roller are available for the work. The machines always work with an operator. Choosing the right machine requires checking the width of the entrance, the space for manoeuvring and the ground conditions. Before the job is confirmed, make sure that the machines can reach the planned location and work there.

What should you prepare for a quote?
Describe the result you expect, not just the number of excavator hours. For work under a building, we need the requirements from the design and the setting-out. When levelling a plot, the target levels, the way the land will be used and how water will drain away all matter.
Tell us about underground services and other obstacles in the ground. Show us where the excavated material should be stockpiled and how the machines can reach the site. If you expect soil to be removed from the site, first agree whether this is actually part of the job.
Scope and pricing
We charge a fixed price per job for earthworks. Once the scope has been agreed, we give you a price for all of the agreed work, not an hourly rate for the machine. So before work starts, agree the tasks covered by the service, what you as the client will prepare, and the date. We agree the location of the work for each job — it does not follow from our concrete delivery area.
The site visit before the quote is free of charge.
Questions before you order
Will the machine be able to get onto the plot?
To assess this, we need the dimensions of the entrance, a description of the surface and the space available. A photo helps, but it cannot always replace checking the site.
Does the job include an operator?
Yes — our machines always work with an operator. Confirm the type of machine and the scope of work when you get the quote.
Can the work be combined with a delivery of aggregate and concrete?
Yes — you can order earthworks, aggregates and concrete from us. We will agree a joint date once the scope and the availability of the machines have been confirmed.
