Uses and requirements
In your enquiry, describe where the material will be used and what is required of it. If it is to go into a layer under part of a building or under a surface, take the design and compaction into account. The name alone does not confirm the load-bearing capacity of the finished layer.
Do not assume that any sand-gravel mix is suitable for structural concrete. Aggregate in such a mix needs confirmed properties and a suitable mix design.
How much should you order?
Work out the volume of the planned layer from the actual dimensions. To determine the tonnes, you need data for the material and assumptions about its compaction. The extra allowance should not be based on a single figure used for every plot.
Tell us the quantity and the delivery location or, if you are collecting, the type of vehicle. Check its permitted payload before loading.

How is it different from sand and gravel?
It contains a mix of grain sizes; its actual grading has to be checked. The name does not stand for one identical specification.

The requirements depend on the role of the layer in the design. Spreading the material is not the same as providing support for a structure.
